I herd today almost 6" of rain expected today thru Saturday night. Had a couple heavy showers and drizzly most all day long tomorrow same.

Hot 84 today with smoke.
Couple fires on the other side of town. Evacuated Chena Hot Springs resort and the next 20 miles headed west towards town

In a word.......kinda hot. 100*, humidity ~25%. Not unbearable, but the A/C set at 80* feels real nice in gym shorts and a light T-shirt. The heat is tapering off now, I may head back out to the garage/reloading & casting garret and resume the excavation of tools and toys from under the debris that accumulates when wife and offspring stack stuff on my benches for classification and/or triage.

Amazing, the stuff that gets found during these explorations. A recent addition (judging by relative depth) is Melissa's Glock 19 in its carry case.

Me--(now in the kitchen)--"What, you giving this back?"

She--"NO! Can you check it over? I haven't fired it in a while, maybe it needs something done."

Me--"This means cookies. I'll give it a scrub-down and lube it up. Deal?"

She--"Deal! Thanks, what kind?"

Me--"You know what your Mom and I like, surprise us."

The Barter System, in action. It looks like peanut butter & chocolate chips. AWESOME.

better than just hogging it all for herself.

I'm not sure what our weather is, it's in the 80's during the day and the high 40's low 50's at night.
the smoke started blowing in yesterday and it got thick quick, the sky is just a Grey color like a cloud cover.

58 very still---only gona mow around the house<< tomarow --- caus the bunny's are likin the clover out back ,it got so dry earler this year I was afraid it would not come back but has so now I will let the bunny's have it for a spell.
The red raspberries are ripe I recon we will pick them today, don't think we need them ---but someone will want them?

Storm came through last nite, nice light show, .5" in the gauge. AC went out first, 83 in the bedroom. Plus I got this grungy summer cold that won't go away.

73* today mostly sunny. Very pleasant last couple of days and it looks like more of the same.

20 hours and 28 minutes today loosing 6 minutes and 15 seconds a day now, will peak in mid August at a daily loss of a little over 7 minutes a day.

Buckle up winter coming.

Today topped out at 101*, right now at 86* and noticeably humid (high for here, 36%).

We spent about 4 hours driving through the mountains, not real far out but took a dip in the upper Santa Ana River near Seven Oaks. VERY COLD WATER. It was nice. We dried in the sun, and got back into the Jeep and came down the hill about 5 P.M. and got some good Mexican food for dinner. I am in a post-dinner semi-comatose state and feel a nap calling to me loudly.

Mostly cloudy and cool for this time of year. Predicted high in the mid 70's with 30% chance of rain showers this afternoon.
